Beats Give Back and Sheltair Celebrate New Music Room at Joshua House with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

LUTZ, FL / February 18, 2025
In a heartwarming celebration of community and creativity, Sheltair, in partnership with Beats Give Back, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly established music room at Joshua House, a foster home dedicated to providing a safe environment and supportive services for children in need.

The event marked a significant milestone in the partnership between Sheltair and Beats Give Back, which began in 2024. Through a vibrant concert fundraiser, the collaboration successfully raised $8,000 to bring this musical vision to life. The event, produced in collaboration with House Hats Collective, featured Funktion-One sound from No Mad Sound Systems, featuring artists such as Chase West and Beltran.

The new music room will provide invaluable opportunities for Joshua House residents to explore their musical talents. Four dedicated teachers have already signed up to offer lessons, with two currently providing instruction in guitar and drums.

Lisa Holland, President and CEO of Sheltair, expressed her excitement about the project, stating, "We believe that music has the power to transform lives. Our partnership with Beats Give Back has not only brought this music room to fruition but has also strengthened our commitment to supporting the youth in our community."

The newly renovated music room features a new MacBook and various instruments donated by the Sheltair team during their 2024 Leadership Conference, continuing their annual tradition of including a community giveback segment in their agenda.

“The opening of our music studio at Joshua House is a dream come true” said Manny Lopez, Founder of Beats Give Back. “It’s been an incredible journey building this with so many passionate people who believe in the power of music. I hope this moment reminds others that we all have the ability to make an impact here in our community and what the power of connecting can do.”

The celebration concluded with performances by the students and teachers, showcasing the talents and enthusiasm that this new music room will nurture for years to come.

“Cutting the ribbon marks more than opening a door to a music therapy room; it’s a symbol of hope, healing, and the power of community,” said DeDe Grundel, Executive Director at Friends of Joshua House Foundation. “With Beats Give Back, we’re not just bringing music to Joshua House; we’re bringing opportunities to foster children to explore expression, growth, and connection. Together, we're building a future where every child knows their voice matters.”

Stay tuned for the next Beats Give Back concert coming to Sheltair in 2026.
